Online Supervisor – Global BC
Summary
In my current role as online supervisor for Global BC, I oversee a team of online journalists in Burnaby, Victoria and Kelowna. I support them in their work, train interns and new hires, design and execute the online coverage for special projects and events, manage workflows and schedules and work with managers, reporters and online journalists in B.C. and across the country. I also write stories for the website and present news stories live on the air for our TV audiences.
Segment host – CKNW Radio
- Produced and hosted a weekly segment on CKNW discussing the most popular online stories of the week.
Online Producer – Global BC
- Kept the Global BC website updated with the news of the day.
Reporter – Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Times
- Sports editor also covering crime, arts and entertainment, the environment and Pitt Meadows council.
Senior Reporter and Director of Community – NowPublic.com
- Wrote and researched at least 10 news articles a day, chasing current trends and breaking news stories.
- Trained in SEO and keyword optimization, Drupal and HTML.
